I'm Robertus Kool, a Dutch artist who specialises in oil painting on canvas.
I started drawing as a youngster and, when a teenager, was inspired by the Old Masters and modern painters. At 21, I immigrated from the Netherlands to Canada and after three years travelled to Mexico and onward to New York where I took courses in oil painting. I was employed with the United Nations for 35 consecutive years, sketching and painting in various places around the world. Later, I settled in Jerusalem, turning my living room into a studio. I now often visit my daughter in Sydney, where I continue to create.
